Since the 90’s, employment access programs
have gone hand in glove with the food-related activities of the Garde-Manger.
To date, some 500 people, 85% of them women, have profited from our support,
individual attention and employment access services.
In conjunction with Emploi Québec, the Garde-Manger
offers two employment access programs: These programs have a single, shared goal: to
provide people with the skills necessary to access employment and prepare for
the future.
The people who take advantage of these
programs have different profiles and are often at different stages in their
lives. Candidates are steered towards
the more suitable program according to their needs.
Support offered to participants includes
psychosocial services and workplace supervision. Below are some techniques used
to support participants:
- Periodic one-on-one meetings to discuss participant
motivation, expectations, concerns
- Employment access workshops focused on
personal development (self esteem and self affirmation, time management, stress
management, etc.) and on job skills (office technology skills, management
skills, interview skills, etc.)
- Individualized support in the workplace
provided by a team leader
- Individual and group year-end assessments
Thanks to the strong support our employment
access programs offer, 73% of participants have found a job upon leaving the
Garde-Manger. If you would like to be part of in one of our employment access programs,
