Other actions

All year long the Garde-Manger Pour Tous works in collaboration with numerous community groups in Southwest Montreal to undertake a variety of activities.

Engagement in and reflection on food security
Le Comité sécurité alimentaire de la Coalition de la Petite-Bourgogne

Together with a number of community partners in Little Burgundy and St. Henri, we are involved in the creation and implementation of an initiative designed to improve local food security.

Involvement in summer camp
Les Ateliers 850
We offer both our cooking facilities and food to Les Ateliers 850, an organization that runs summer camps for underprivileged children for the token cost of one dollar. These camps organize a variety of fun activities, outings and cooking workshops. Thanks to the Garde-Manger, some fifty breakfasts, lunches and snacks are served to children aged 6 to 12 and to a dozen counsellors-in-training aged 13 to 16.

Food delivery
Le Club Énergie du centre sportif de la Petite-Bourgogne et du Centre d’éducation aux adultes (CEDA)

The Club Énergie is a local partnership offering weekly activities including drama workshops, outings, and the chance to play various sports, along with discussion forums on topics of social concern.
Our involvement consists in delivering food for lunches on Saturdays. This meeting place for 7 to 14 year olds strives to keep young people off the streets, to help them develop social skills, and to bring them closer to their parents and other community members.

Help line
We offer a help line that provides a reference service and a friendly ear. We tell callers where to turn for food help in their neighbourhood. This service is available weekdays from 9:00 am to 4 pm.
